While we can not right the wrongs that these banks inflict overnight, we can certainly give them a taste of their own medicine, and speak to them in a language THEY understand. MONEY!!
Sign up for all of your bills to be paid automatically and make sure that each of your standing bills (mortgage, car, student loan etc) are paid one month ahead.
Then maintain the regular automaitic monthly payment however ALSO set up a recurring $1. principal payment to be paid weekly (or daily if you can afford it) to your bank. $1 is the lowest amount most automatic payment plans will allow. MAKE SURE you put "principal payment" in the memo section they can not refuse a principal payment.
This will force your bank to spend roughly $5 to $10 every week to process a $1.00 payment. While it does not solve the problem it is a little satisfying.
