Tell us your bank story...
StopBankAbuse.com is taking on the biggest bank in America because if we were to win concessions from a small bank, no one would notice and it would be business as usual... If we can win concessions from BOA, I believe other banks will follow suit.
I am looking for visitors to our sites to tell their (good or bad) story in our forums and to let other people know about us, and to sign up to protest in front of your favorite BOA branch.
In the Spring when weather is better, we will start our protest at all Bank of America locations. This will start out several hours, one day a week (Friday-payday), and expand as we get more volunteers to join our group. We ask for 2 hours a month (or more if you have the time).
We will have a petition online soon along with other tools/letters to help with our cause.
If we can get BOA to make just one concession, we can get other major banks to follow...
We are not asking for a lot.
1. Check reconciliation from lowest to highest dollar value (So they don't screw us on the smaller checks that don't clear).
2. Reduced/Sliding NSF Fees.
3. No unauthorized overdraft loans without customer consent . (This is the overdraft that they pay out knowing you have no money in your account).
4. No charges for non-customers to cash their own checks. (This should be a given...)
We will also be asking that no charges be assessed to get your balance from an ATM and a cap on ATM fees.
We would be grateful for any help the public can offer. The benefit will be a huge savings for people that have financial problems in the future. Once the banks change the way they do business, customers will not be hit with astronomical fees should their account have problems.
Feel free to tell the public your story in our forums and to recommend our Web site...
We are still a small group, but more and more people are starting to visit the site and sign up. My mission is to make this a national movement and to show up on the BOA corporate radar before the end of summer.
Nothing makes you feel better than picketing the bank that cheated you.
I started this over $6.00 (plus the pain of past experiences with banks to stir me up) and I will not stop until they stop stealing from us (at least so blatantly). I still protest several days a week (1 hour/day min) in front of the bank that tried to cheat me. Lest they forget...

I'd like to suggest that you add a link to the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of Currency), in addition to writing to your Congressman/woman. The more paperwork filed in Washington, the more weight that can be leveraged against BoA and the other corrupt institutions.
