Tired of the banks ripping you off with their fees?

It happens all the time... you make a small mistake on your checkbook or a check given to you fails to clear and you can end up with half a paycheck in fees from your bank...

Even a small error can cost you over a hundred dollars in fees just stopping off for your 3 daily cups of coffee using your debit card...

It's time to call the banks on the carpet and start fighting back over unreasonable excessive fees, questionable accounting practices and unfair policies.

We are implementing a Nationwide Boycott against Americas largest bank,
Bank of America

If we can change the way BOA conducts business, other banks will follow suit.

Volunteers wanted to join us.

One hour a week or one hour a month, we need your support demonstrating in front of BOA branches around the country.

Where is Occupy Wall Street Leadership?

To Occupy wall Street:

You may only have this one opportunity in time to make changes to the US banking system/Lobbying laws...

Do not wander like you are lost in the woods. You need to stand up, take charge and start leading the 99% and focus their energies with a plan and a goal. Be specific...

This is a good opportunity to co-ordinate your bank (and other) protests with other "Occupy (your city here)" groups so you hit all banks/Etc... at the same day/time...

Protesting Bank of America

Join our Nationwide Boycott of Bank of America!...

StopBankAbuse.com is looking to affect change in the way Bank of America charges fees for customers and non-customers. We will be asking customers to boycott Bank of America until they agree to put a stop to it's excessive fees, questionable accounting practices, and bad policies.

The Protest/Boycott will continue until Bank of America agrees to more favorable consumer policies and practices.

One of our goals is to have at least one person in front of every B.O.A. location every Friday (Payday) for one or two hours picketing the Bank of America location.

We will start our nationwide protest April Fools Day (April 1st) and are looking for victims volunteers in ALL major cities to donate one/two hours a week or one/two hours a month in front of your favorite Bank of America branch to help draw attention to our boycott and hopefully make this a viral movement. As of Feb. 01 2009 we currently have around 40 persons around the country looking to picket their local branch this Spring.

Working with our group can help make a difference!

Change can't happen without you getting involved...

TO ALL BANKS: "We Demand Consumer Protection"

Sign our Online Bank of America Petition

NOTE: You do not have to be a B.O.A. customer to sign the petition... Just list your current bank in the petition...

Before deregulation of the banking industry, banks made their profits on savings and interest on loans.

Now banks are making their profits on fees charged to the customer and fees for non-customers cashing their checks.

The banks now nickel and dime their customers to death with excessive fees and accounting practices that work against their (valued?) customers.

We are looking to change these practices by boycotting select banks, with Bank of America being the first. The changes we are proposing will still make the banks money while protecting customers and the public from excessive fees.

We now have our online Bank Petition up and are looking to get at least a million signatures by the end of 2009 that we can deliver to all banks that signers list as their bank in the petition. Your E-mail (if made available only to me) will not be not be given out to ANYONE. Period. Visitors and media can contact me during the day (10-5 PT) at 216-322-9111.

The public demands:

The Public demands an end to Excessive fees, Questionable accounting practices and abusive policies forced on us. These demands apply to ALL banks.

As a signer/supporter of the Bank of America petition, we DEMAND from Bank of America and ALL banks:

1. A FULL accounting of where and how our bailout money is being used.

For customers and the banking public, we demand a change in the way your bank conducts business.

2. Check reconciliation from lowest to highest dollar value to prevent excessive fees should customers make a mistake.

3. Reduced/Sliding NSF Fees - No more $35.00+ Fees for a .60 cent overdraft (example).

4. No unauthorized overdraft loans without customer consent. Clearly marked opt in/opt out. Don't authorize a charge to my debit card without my consent if the balance can't cover it.

5. No charges for non-customers to cash YOUR bank checks.

6. Reasonable fees on ATM fees and electronic transfers to cover overdrafts.

7. A stop to any "Hidden Fees" behind fine print

8. Whereas you consistently penalize customers for every small mistake with fees, you give nothing back to the customer when you make mistakes. Even if the customer must pay third parties because of your mistake. This is a practice that MUST STOP.

FEB 20 2009 Bank of America Corp. Chief Executive Ken Lewis has received a subpoena from the New York state attorney general's office in connection with Merrill Lynch's payment of employee bonuses before the companies combined on Jan. 1.

Former Merrill CEO John Thain, who was subpoenaed last month, also was questioned by investigators on Thursday about the bonuses that were paid in late December, just days before Bank of America completed its purchase of New York-based Merrill, according to a person familiar with the investigation. The person requested anonymity because of the ongoing nature of the matter.

Bank of America spokesman Robert Stickler on Friday declined to comment directly on the matter, adding: "we do not comment on questions about subpoenas."

Bail you out so you can screw us more?!

Bank of America received $20 billion in federal bailout from the US government through the TARP program on 16 January 2009 and also got a guarantee of US $118 billion in potential losses at the company.

But after receiving billions in aid from U.S. taxpayers, the nation's largest banks say they can't track exactly how they're spending the money or they simply refuse to discuss it.

It's something any bank would demand to know before handing out a loan: Where's the money going?...

Nearly every bank the Associated Press questioned -- including Citibank and Bank of America, two of the largest recipients of bailout money -- responded with generic public relations statements explaining that the money was being used to strengthen balance sheets and continue making loans to ease the credit crisis.

The public DEMANDS accountability from any bank receiving federal monies.

As a recipient of our money, this also makes us a partner. As a partner, the public (yes, the ones that helped save your company) demands to be treated fairly...

The banking industry is now being helped with OUR tax dollars.

This makes us a partner with ANY banks that accept money from the federal government to stay solvent while the economy recovers.

We demand that our "partners" account where the "bailout" money is going and negotiate fair policies and fees as a requirement for us providing them funding to stay afloat....
